Spanning a distance half the length of the continent of South America, this thirteen-day tour of Brazil and Argentina will introduce you to some of the world’s most astonishing natural wonders and the cultural hubs of Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. The tour has been put together for those that want to experience the natural beauty of these countries, while also spending some time in two of the continent’s iconic alpha cities. 

Along the way, expect to be wowed. In less than a fortnight, you’ll journey through rainforests, relax on the beach, navigate glacial waters, look out on incredible city views, trek around mountains and deep forests and watch a world-class tango show with a glass of Malbec in hand. 

It’s a mix of everything that makes these countries great and the perfect way to consume as much as you can of Argentina and Brazil in a relatively short time. From sipping caipirinhas on Ipanema Beach, you’ll be on your way to face the biggest system of waterfalls on Earth, before heading to Calafate and seeing (and trekking on) the world-famous glacier Perito Moreno. You’ll catch your breath just in time for Ushuaia, whose beautiful national parks you’ll explore by boat and on foot. The tour finishes up in the city of Buenos Aires, which is a must for anyone visiting Argentina. 

Venturing from Brazil’s most visited city towards to the southern tip of the continent, this is an unforgettable experience that won’t soon be forgotten.

Day by day

Day 1 - Rio de Janeiro

Welcome to Rio! Once you’ve arrived, we have a private transfer organized to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax or check out one of the city’s many attractions.

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro

There are no compulsory activities for today, so it’s yours to discover Rio in your own way! We do however have a number of suggestions. You could relax on the city beaches, check out the Christ the Redeemer Statue, see Sugar Loaf or do a favela tour. Ask us for more recommendations.

Day 3 - Puerto Iguazu

You’ll be transported to the airport to take your flight to Foz do Iguaçu (please note this is not included). Once you’ve landed, you’ll be thrown straight into the action as you’ll visit the Brazilian side of the falls, which is known for its amazing panoramic views. After the visit to the park, a private transfer will take over the border and to your hotel on the Argentinean side.

Day 4 - Puerto Iguazú

We enter the Iguazú National Park for a tour of the Argentinean side of the falls. It’s here there you’ll discover the immensity of these waterfalls as you walk across secure catwalks and paths that lie next to, below and over the top of the falls. You’ll even have the opportunity to experience Iguazu Falls from the river in a small boat and even move through one of the waterfalls as the water descends from above. A guide will teach you more about the forest and its unique flora and fauna. Following this, it’s back to the hotel.

Day 5 - Puerto Iguazú

You’ll be transferred to the park to visit the Macuco Trail, which takes you through the rainforest and will show you more of its natural beauty. Expect to see wildlife along the way and unique vegetation and plant life, as well as various streams and canyons.

Day 6 - El Calafate

You’ll be taken to the local airport via private transport and take the flight to Buenos Aires, and from there on to El Calafate. After a full day of travel from the north to the south of the country, you'll arrive in El Calafate and be transported to your hotel where you can check in and take the rest of the day to relax.

Day 7 - El Calafate

Transport will be organized to take you to the Los Glaciares National Park. You’ll set off on a short boat trip before trekking towards the edge of Perito Moreno, one of the world’s biggest glaciers. The two hour circuit that follows introduces you a fascinating icy landscape atop Perito Moreno. It’s made up of small lagoons, gullies, crevasses and plenty of ice formations with incredible blue colors. You’ll hear all about the flora and fauna in the area and the story of Perito Moreno itself.

Day 8 - El Calafate

An early start today, as you’ll be sailing around around icebergs and seeing some truly amazing natural sights along the way. You’ll journey past the western front of the Upsala glacier and then through Cristina Canal until you reach the Estancia, where you will disembark, have lunch and check out the Costumbrista museum here. Afterwards, you’ll take to the mountainous roads in all-terrain 4x4 vehicles, travelling 9.5 km to the Continental ice shelter, where you’ll be spoilt with views of of Lake Guillermo, the Southern Patagonian Ice Shelf and the Andes. Transport will be organized to transfer you back to El Calafate.

Day 9 - Ushuaia

A private transfer is organized from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia. You’ll land, check-in at the hotel and take the afternoon free to explore. If you have the energy, we’d recommend the Beavers tour by 4x4 at 6pm.

Day 10 - Ushuaia

Today you’ll discover the natural beauty of Ushuaia. Hiking through the Tierra del Fuego National Park, you’ll see it’s lakes, mountains and forests with a guide that is eager to teach you all about this fascinating region. Rug up and make sure you have a good pair of trekking shoes with you! In the afternoon, you’ll take a boat trip in the Beagle Channel followed by another short walk.

Day 11 - Buenos Aires

You’ll be taken to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Transport to your hotel is organized once you’ve landed. Take the afternoon free to go for a walk around the city, visit a museum or just relax!

Day 12 - Buenos Aires

In the morning, you’ll go on a responsible walking City Tour, seeing emblematic sites and taking a visit to a local street art gallery. We visit the famous Recoleta Cemetery and Palermo with its green areas, parks and squares that make it one of the most popular districts of the city. Then we move to the historical quarter to see the Plaza de Mayo and its surrounding buildings (the Cabildo, the Cathedral, the Government House). Later we pass through the old neighborhood of San Telmo to visit the gallery. In the evening, we invite you to a traditional Tango show with a 3 course dinner at Esquina Carlos Gardel, a restaurant in the neighborhood of Abasto. Afterward, you’ll be taken but your hotel.

Day 13 - Buenos Aires

It’s the last day of your tour! Say your goodbye before being taken to the airport according to your flight schedule. Until next time.

Legal

Accommodation Categories

Basic: Rooms include the minimum needed to have a nice stay - a bed and a private bathroom. They are basic but nice and clean. All the tours included in the experiences are group tours.
Comfort: Accommodation normally takes place in 3* or 3* plus hotels. Rooms have some charm and most of them include TV. Some tours are private or semi private.
Superior: Hotels are local boutique 4* or 5*. They have a local appeal and they are an experience on themselves. Tours and transfers can be for groups, private or semi private according to what mentioned in the included services section.

Methods of Payment

Cash, wire transfer or credit card payments through paypal are accepted. There is a 5,4% surcharge for credit card payments through paypal.

Price Conditions

Cancellation
In the event that the customer needs to cancel a reservation made, the amount paid shall be returned after discounting the cancellation expenses, if any. Any cancellation should be sent by written form to the following e-mail address: info@andatravel.com.ar. Any cancellation receipt and confirmation shall be sent by the same way. The expenses shall depend on the advance time by which the cancellation will be requested:
Within 15 days before the service, a 20% penalty of the total amount of the service.
5 to 15 days before the service, a 40% penalty of the total amount of the service.
Less than 5 days before the service: a 60% penalty of the total amount of the service.
Less than 2 days before the service: a 100% penalty of the total amount of the service.
Hours and trips
1. All passengers are obliged to respect all the established hours. All consequences related to its breach shall be at their own expenses.
2. In the event of regular tours, there shall be a 5-minute tolerance for the pick up, after this time, the pick-up itinerary shall be completed. In this case, the passengers shall have to go by their own means to the starting point of the tour.
3. Should the passenger not show up at the pick-up place and at the time mentioned in this document, this shall be considered as cancelled at the last minute (no show) and the total amount of the service shall be charged.
Changes 1. During our trips, different public and private sites shall be visited, the same are booked according to the scheduling, day and choice of the passengers. Access to them is subject to the decision of the authorities at the moment of the visit.
2. Once the booking has been confirmed, ANDA shall not be liable for any change or cancellation made on the passanger's own decision including flight delays of the air company, or any other transportation means.
3. ANDA reserves the right to make partial or total changes of days and/or services composing the tour due to unforseeable circumstances or in case of force majeure, before or during the implementation thereof.
4. ANDA shall have the right to cancel any tour in the event of any of the circumstances provided by Art. 24 of the Decree nr. 2182/72
5. Should the trip last more than the established terms due to fortuitous causes beyond the control of the Company or by force majeure, the expenses incurred shall be paid by the passenger.
The transport is included only in cases specifically mentioned in the corresponding item. The transport services shall be provided by the contracted transport companies. Vehicle transportation shall only be provided for the requested amount of people and/or the specific group.
Personal belongings
1. Any customer's baggage and other personal belongings are not covered by the contract journey. As for all the personal objects, these should always be kept with themselves, irrespective of the part of the vehicle where they are stored. They are carried on behalf and on the customer's risk, being the Operator not liable for any loss, theft or damage that should be incurred during the travel for any reason, including any handling during hotel/airport transfers or viceversa, if any.
2. This document does not include any traveller's possibility nor right to complain to the transport companies or their insurances companies, being the application and compliance of the trasnport companies' terms as well as the ticket the only binding agreement between the above-mentioned companies and the passenger.
